Positives & Negatives of ZABDESK



ZabDesk is a SZABIST ZabSolutions project to automate the business processes at SZABIST. This project provides complete software solutions for entire academic and partial financial processes. The system is a multi-user application that functions in a distributed environment .Visual interfaces are provided for the instructors, students and all others who need to interact with the system. The login to different modules of the system is authenticated and secured.


POSITIVES:

1. Convenient:
                    
                  It is convenient because you can connect it anytime anywhere.

2. Informative:
                  
                  It provides all the general information about university processes, rules and regulations, policies, guidelines etc.

3. Allow feedback:
                  
                  It allows you to post your feedback.



4. Different Features:
                         
                            It has got different features like you can change ur password, request for course, id card etc or change your profile, view your course outline, attendence, exam schedule, register or withdraw the course, check your result and etc


NEGATIVES:
                 The only negative of ZABDESK I have noticed is that the password get expire very frequently and students don't use it much frequently.

FACILITIES IN "SZABIST DXB"

TO PROVIDE CONVENIENCE TO THE STUDENTS AND FACULTY, MANAGEMENT HAVE FOCUSED ON DIFFERENT IMPORTANT FACILITIES. I WILL BE DISCUSSING THEM ONE BY ONE

COMPUTER LABORATORIES:


SZABIST has installed state-of-the-art computer laboratories with full 7 x 24 x 365 high bandwidth connectivity to the Internet. The campus is WiFi enabled so the students with 802.11x capable devices (such as a laptop, PDA, etc.) can access all network resources wirelessly. All students will have their email addresses hosted on the campus webserver.

LIBRARY:
The SZABIST library contains a rich collection of books on most information technology and management sciences topics. The library is equipped with a Multimedia / Internet station to help students explore information available on CDs and the Internet. The Library is also linked to the 12,500 full text online academic journals  through the HEC digital library. In addition, the library subscribes to a number of Digital online libraries, such as the IEEE / ACM, through which the students can access an unlimited number of journals and magazines.

VISA SPONSORSHIP AND ASSISTANCE:
Visa Sponsorship is available for full time students. A Full time student must take-up minimum of 9 credit hours of study per semester. Knowledge Village arranges for the student visa. Students on student visa are not permitted to take up paid employment and must pay semester fees in full up front. Details regarding procedure etc, can be obtained from the Admissions Office.

TRANSPORTATION:
SZABIST can arrange for transportation through local transportation providers from within Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, Abu Dhabi.
The current rates (subject to change) are:
             Dubai AED 425 per month
             Shajah AED 475 per month
             Ajman AED 475 per month
             Abu Dhbai AED 575 per month
             Discovery Garden (Dubai)AED 475 per month
             International City (Dubai) AED 400 per month
 NOTE: Transportation fee in full must be paid in advance for the whole semester.

ACCOMMODATION:
SZABIST facilitates the arrangement of shared housing for its students that are conveniently located, secure, comfortable, cost effective There is a variety of private accommodation available in Dubai and in the vicinity of the DIAC.
RECREATION ROOM:
In recreation room students enjoy during there free time, they do combine study, have fun, watch tv and even arrange events for example heena show, retail marketing show, khaoo gali, table tennis tournament etc.

The Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) is a fully Chartered Institute established through a Legislative Act of the Sindh Assembly (Sindh Act No. XI of 1995) and is approved and recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, as a degree granting institution.


FOUNDER:


Benazir Bhutto, daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, educated at Harvard University and Oxford. She served as Prime Minister of Pakistan 1988-1990 and 1993-1996, first female leader of a Moslem country in the modern world.
